The Sundance Film Festival is just around the corner. As Kevin Smith returns to the place which played such a pivotal role in his career, he's been sharing artifacts that he's collected along the way.
On Sunday, Smith posted a photo of the Clerks budget he submitted to Miramax 22 years ago.
"I sent this incomplete budget along with a copy of #Clerks to @miramax in hopes they'd buy my flick," wrote Smith.
The budget also included a copy of the film and Smith's first, self-penned biography.
Fans of Smith are well aware of how the shooting and editing of the film was funded (check out this super-short MSN video if you need a refresher), but the more "business" side of the film's origin is less-known.
It's usually hard to put a price on a dream, but Kevin Smith took a gamble on his dreams for $27,575.
