Kevin Smith confirms in IMDb’s IMDbrief news regarding a new cast member in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.
IMDb’s news show the IMDfrief turned it’s attention to Kevin Smith’s latest film in their coverage titled Jay and Silent Bob: Rebooted & Revealed. The two minute and fifty seven second video provides viewers with a brief history of the characters of Jay and Silent Bob and features exclusive interviews with the film’s writer, director, and actor Kevin Smith.

Kevin provided IMDfrief casting news during his interview. Smith confirmed that actor Justin Long will appear in Reboot and implied that we’ve seen the character that he is playing before.
Justin Long first worked with Kevin Smith in his 2008 film Zach and Miri Make a Porno as adult film actor Brandon St. Randy. At first Kevin teased that if viewers enjoyed Long’s performance as Brandon St. Randy in Zach and Miri Make a Porno they would also like Long’s character in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. He then immediately confirmed that Long would be returning to the character of Brandon St. Randy for his Reboot role.
This will mark Justin Long’s fourth appearance in a Kevin Smith film, having also appeared in Smith’s “Canadian Trilogy” 2014 film Tusk and 2016’sYoga Hosers before joining the cast of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

Later the same day an Instagram post from Smith revealed the Long wasn’t the only Zach and Miri alumni to appear in Reboot.
Craig Robinson will be playing the judge In a courtroom scene for Reboot, with Bailiff‘s Joe Manganiello and Reboot Producer Jordan Monsanto at his side. Smith’s Hollyweed co-star Frankie Shaw will play the part of the courtroom Prosecutor.
Smith and Shaw’s Hollyweed co-star Donnell Rawlings took to Instagram to share that he’s also a part of the Reboot fun.

Smith also shared via his Instagram that Mallrats co-stars Brian O’Halloran and Jason Lee are ready to Reboot as well.
