Since the trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has been released, the Internet has been flooded with fan reaction videos. Countless people have taken to Youtube or Twitter to share their surprised or perhaps disappointed reactions to the much-anticipated trailer, and it looks like a few celebrities are also chipping into the trend. On the most recent episode of Fatman on Batman, Kevin Smith and his co-host Marc Bernardin live-react to the vigilante for all to see.
Watching Smith react to the Spider-Man trailer is a thing of hilarious joy. The filmmaker and geek icon starts the reaction with nerves on display, but his antsy feelings drop once he see Peter Parker take on a group of bank robbers who’re dressed as the Avengers. And, when he laughs over Tony Stark’s witty car joke a few moments later, viewers can tell that Spider-Man: Homecoming has made the director’s must-see list for 2017.
Then, everything promptly turns into a fanboy session when Michael Keaton’s Vulture appears on-screen. Smith pulls out a pair of devil horns to celebrate the villain’s appearance, and he geeks out over the character’s hi-tech ensemble.
“Ah! Did you see him f**king side-by-side with Stark,” Smith yells at the end when a scene of Spider-Man and Iron Man flits on. “Let’s watch it again.”
The pair watch the trailer once more to catch the footage’s subtle teases, but the director’s reaction remains the same. For Smith, Spider-Man: Homecoming is not a film to miss, and he will be one of the first to watch the star-studded superhero romp when it hits theaters next summer.
