Kevin Smith took to social media this morning to reveal a Tusk Easter egg that will be in his latest film, Yoga Hosers.
"This article that hangs over the register in the movie is the bane of their existence," Smith posted, "and one of our only callbacks to the events of #tusk."
Yoga Hosers - which debuts this weekend - is a comedy-horror starring Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Melody Depp that makes up the second part of the True North Trilogy. The two stars played minor roles in the first film of the trilogy, Tusk (2014). Yoga Hosers will be followed by the yet-to-be filmed Moose Jaws.
"22 years ago, I went to #Sundance with my first film, #Clerks. This Saturday, I return to the scene of that cinematic crime with a movie called #YogaHosers, starring@lilyrose_depp & @harleyquinnnn_ as the Colleens (the two girls from the#eh2zed convenience store in @tuskthemovie)," posted Smith.
The Sundance Film Festival was the launching venue for Smith's first film, Clerks (1994), which featured characters he would later use in other films keeping with the continuity of the previously released works. Most notable of these characters are Jay and Silent Bob, played by Jason Mewes and Smith himself. The reality of these characters and films would be dubbed the "View Askewniverse," a portmanteau of Smith's production company "View Askew" and universe.
Fans of the Smith's work will be delighted to see that his universe building has continued.
