Kevin Smith is coming home to celebrate his birthday, and he’s bringing his latest film with him.
Smith, a Highlands native, will screen his new horror comedy “Yoga Hosers” at the historic Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
Tickets, $20 to $37, go on sale noon Friday, July 8, through thebasie.org, at 732-842-9000 or at the Basie box office, 99 Monmouth Street.
Starring Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp, as well Lily-Rose’s Oscar-nominated dad, Johnny Depp, “Yoga Hosers” opens across the country on Sept. 2.
The film is the second installment in Smith’s Canadian-shot True North trilogy, which he launched in 2014 with “Tusk,” featuring Harley Quinn Smiths and both Depps.
At the Basie, "Yoga Hosers" will be followed by a post-show question-and-answer session with Smith, serving as a celebration of the Monmouth County native son’s 46th birthday.
Tickets for a meet-and-greet session will be available directly via Smith’s site, www.smodcast.com
